# Sorted in Schools (Te whai hua – kia ora) > Sorted in Schools is New Zealand's only nationwide financial capability programme embedded in the curriculum for secondary schools and kura. It is operated by Te Ara Ahunga Ora — the Retirement Commission — and is free and government-funded. Over 78% of NZ secondary schools are signed up. Resources cover Years 9–13 and are available for both English Medium Education (aligned to the New Zealand Curriculum, NZ Curriculum levels 4–8) and Māori Medium Education (te reo Māori, aligned to Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Marautanga o Te Aho Matua). All resources are free. A personal profile (open to teachers and students) enables saving, sharing, and downloading resources and unlocks assessment materials. > Base URL: [https://sortedinschools.org.nz](https://sortedinschools.org.nz) > Contact: schools@sorted.org.nz > Parent organisation: Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission — [https://retirement.govt.nz](https://retirement.govt.nz) > Companion site (Māori Medium Education): [https://sortedinschools.org.nz/mme](https://sortedinschools.org.nz/mme) > Last reviewed: 2026-03-09 ## Getting started - About us: Programme overview, mission, and access to English Medium and Māori Medium resources — [https://sortedinschools.org.nz/about/about-us](https://sortedinschools.org.nz/about/about-us) - NZ Curriculum alignment: How Sorted in Schools fits the updated New Zealand Curriculum and Te Ara Ahunga Ora's role in curriculum development — [https://sortedinschools.org.nz/about/new-zealand-curriculum](https://sortedinschools.org.nz/about/new-zealand-curriculum) - Sign up: Create a personal profile to save resources, access assessment materials, and receive programme updates.
