  • What is your first memory of money/moni?
  • Who taught you about money/moni and how did they influence your money/moni choices?
  • What was the first thing you remember buying with money/moni you earned yourself?
  • How did you earn money/moni before you retired?
  • When did you first start preparing for retirement? What did you do?
  • What did you do to save money/moni while you were working?
  • What types of insurance did you have at different stages of your life? Can you share a story about insurance, either positive or negative?
  • Do you have insurance now? Why or why not?
  • Did you make any investments to prepare for retirement? Can you share a story about investing, either positive or negative?
  • Did you make regular contributions to a superannuation scheme while you were working? Why or why not?
  • If you could go back in time, how would you have prepared differently for retirement?
  • What advice can you give me about preparing for retirement?

  • Do you think it’s harder to buy a home now than it was when you were young?
  • What advice can you give me about home ownership?

  • Which areas or rooms in your home are really important to you? Where do you spend the most time?
  • What features of your home do you really love? What features would you like to change?

  • What are some of the challenges of being retired?
  • What is really important to you as a retired person? Has this changed over time?

  • How have the ways you manage your money/moni changed since you retired? What are the results of these changes?
