Grow your students mathematics knowledge by learning about money
Our free learning resources provide a range of group and individual activities for students to grow their knowledge about money, how it works, and what it means for them.
Teach your students about money using these resources which are explicitly aligned to the new curriculum. Year 9 covers simple interest, markups and discounts, and GST. Year 10 builds on these foundations with compound interest, currency conversion, and finding proportions of cost. Student workbooks and teacher support materials are provided for both year levels.
Understanding how tax works is important for all New Zealanders. These resources cover types of tax and provide practical examples about how tax applies in different situations, including GST and PAYE. This planner provides a 10-week course (or one term) for independent learners or as a group lesson. The planner provides a flexible approach to teaching students about money.
