Year 10 financial mathematics resources

Description

This resource is explicitly aligned to the new financial mathematics sub-strand of the Mathematics and Statistics learning area of the New Zealand Curriculum.

This resource pack includes the Student Workbook, Teacher Support Materials and supplementary resources and tools. 

The Student Workbook covers: 

• Full and explicit coverage of the financial mathematics sub-strand's three key topics: compound interest, currency conversion and finding proportions of cost. 
• Opportunities for extension and independent investigation through a rich task. 

The Teacher Support Materials covers: 

• Knowledge and practices where the resources align to other areas of mathematics and statistics learning area. 
• Teaching considerations for financial mathematics.  
• Guidance for using the Student Workbook and supplementary resources. 

Supplementary resources include: 

• A self-assessment tool to use at the beginning and end of learning, which includes space for student reflection. 
• A tracking sheet to log student completion and need for support.
